API utilise the latest ROV technology developed for the off shore industry.
A solution to long-range depressurised pipeline inspection challenges. We have the capability of inspecting up to 900 metres of pipeline from a central entry point.
The system includes 2 on board video cameras, multiple sensor options, and is operable in pipelines as small as 6in / 150mm internal diameter.
The systems require an open cut pipe or letterbox section to enter the pipeline and features include:
• Fully submersible
• Fully steerable
• Interchangeable wheels and tracks for increased vehicle traction
• 360 degree pan and tilt/zoom camera
• Data retrieval (recorded data) including distance overlay
• Motorised self-stacking cable assembly
• System can be utilised for towing (mule taping) in the pipe work inspection process

Pre Lining/Pipe Pulling Inspections Water and Gas
Much of the world’s drinking water pipeline infrastructure is long past its design life and in need of repair. Complete replacement of these pipes using conventional dig and replace solutions can be time consuming and very disruptive to traffic, the general public and the environment. These problems can easily be avoided by choosing to reline over replacement.
The cost of relining is still a costly approach and prior knowledge to pipeline configuration is required, as this will save companies many hours and days of downtime during the installation process, along with information required during the planning stages of the projects.
Another approach is butt fusion pushing of pipes within pipes (using the original pipeline as a host pipe). The same issues occur as for lining, along with the additional cost of added bends, valves and excavations.
To date API has undertaken pre lining inspection projects for Affinity, Anglian and Thames Water. This has resulted in saving contractors a vast amount of time and money by removing the guess work from these projects.
