API Awarded CCTV contract surveying via existing fire hydrants

Posted on October 30, 2017 by API

API Has been awarded a CCTV contract to survey DMA pipelines to determine pipe condition, lining and material type. Traditional industry techniques contractors have used is to excavate pipe sections, drill the pipe and take pipe coupon samples.

API offers the utility not only a huge cost saving, but also reduced disruption, less excavation/reinstatement and potential damage to the asset.

API Can survey via a traditional style fire hydrant upstream and downstream to cover a distance of 40 metres, offering far more data than a single coupon extraction. Also due to the unique technique, a wider geographical area can be covered in a shorter space of time.
