Water is a valuable source around the world for many reasons; however lost water in the world of hydro is also a loss of energy and in turn revenue.

API can undertake live CCTV and acoustic inspections on all pipeline assets and offer clients a full data report to test the pipeline for:

• Corrosion
• Leakage
• Air pockets
• Negative pressure zones
• Hydraulic modelling
• Loss of bore through pipe inversion (common in plastics/MDPE)
• Debris and obstructions

Any of the above areas could reduce hydro output by a level of up to 50%, this in turn could see a revenue loss of millions of pounds to the operator.
API recommends a periodic test of hydro schemes every 3-5 years due to the natural aging process, change of climate and on-going corrosion and build-up of debris within the pipe line.
